September 28, 2016

Lisa M. Wong, MD, pediatrician, past president of the Longwood Symphony Orchestra (LSO), and associate co-director of the Arts and Humanities Initiative at Harvard Medical School, both performed music and served on a panel with other LSO members at the Leadership: Finding Your Voice in Music & Medicine as part of the HUBweek 2016, a week-long festival celebrating education, science, and technology throughout Greater Boston. This particular event was sponsored by and held at the Harvard Ed Portal in Allston, MA.

Dr. Wong spoke about a centuries old connection between medicine and music and stated that this is, "the dawn of cross-disciplinary fields such as neurologic music therapy, the therapeutic application of music to cognitive, sensory, and motor dysfunctions, show the worlds of music and medicine becoming ever more closely aligned."
